「in the wars」ってどういう意味?
Jaimie: ‘I’ve had this painful headache for a few days, and yesterday I fell and bruised my knee...’
Tim: ‘Wow you’re in the wars at the moment!’
Jaimie is really in the wars lately, did you hear about his fall?

[English version]
I have an idiom for you guys today that is relevant to this week’s topic ‘Health’.
Jaimie: ‘I’ve had this painful headache for a few days, and yesterday I fell and bruised my knee...’
Tim: ‘Wow you’re in the wars at the moment!’
If we or someone else is experiencing more than one problem related to health, or we’ve had one illness or injury in particular for a long time, you can use this idiom to express sympathy. Here’s another example:
‘Jaimie is really in the wars lately, did you hear about his fall?’
Jaimie is healthy by the way guys, don’t worry! I’m just using him as an example (thanks Jaimie!) :-)
