「vaccine（ワクチン）」の正しい発音・会話での使われ方【日常英会話】

vaccineの正しい発音・使い方

みなさんこんにちは。

生徒さんがワクチンについて話す時に、いくつか間違いやすい点があることに気付きました。

そこでここでは、それについて答えて行きましょう。

まず最初に、「vaccine」はヴァイオリンやヴィレッジと同様に “v” と発音し、ウォーターやワードの様な“W”の発音ではありません。

また、日本で使われている “sh”の発音は英語では完璧に正しくはなく、シーリングやセロリ の様に、もっと優しい“c”の様に発音します。

ワクチンという単語は、会話の中でどの様に使われるでしょうか？

そうですね...これは、getting married（結婚する）と同じ様な使われ方をします。

結婚し（getting married）、その後結婚している状態（you are married）になる。

これと同様で、ワクチンを打ち（get vaccinated）、ワクチンを打った状態（you are vaccinated）になると表現します。

例えば

  • I’m getting my vaccine next week.
    来週ワクチンを打つ予定です。

  • I got my second vaccine last week.
    先週2回目のワクチンを打ちました。

  • I am fully vaccinated now.
    私はワクチン接種が完了しています。

How to use “vaccine” in English

Hello there everyone. 

I’ve noticed that some of my students are having trouble with how to talk about vaccines so here are the answers to all your troubles. 

Firstly, vaccine is pronounced with a “v” sound like in violin or village and not a “W” sound like in water or word. Also, the “sh” pronunciation that is used in Japanese is not quite right in English either, it is more of a soft “c” like in ceiling or celery. 

How do we use the word vaccine in conversation? Well, it’s kind of like getting married. You get married, and then you are married. It’s the same with a vaccination. You get vaccinated and then you are vaccinated. 

For example, 

  • I’m getting my vaccine next week.

  • I got my second vaccine last week.

  • I am fully vaccinated now.
