If you are anything like me and can’t stand winter, then you will be looking forward to the first signs of spring, and, if I’m not mistaken, they are already here with the days getting longer and the weather, albeit very tentatively, slowly starting to warm up. That is why I have chosen this expression “spring is in the air” as the topic of today’s blog so let’s start with what it actually means.
Meaning
When we say that something is “in the air” it means that we feel that something is about to happen so spring is in the air means that we feel spring is just around the corner. Whether it is because it’s warming up after the cold winter months, we are seeing an earlier sunrise or buds are appearing on trees, any of these things could prompt us to use this phrase.
